A Sewing (Mis)Adventure

I was determined I was going to make Nate's Easter outfit this year.  I found a pattern, made a test run, made a few alterations, then made the real thing.  I even taught myself to applique so I could make it themed for Easter.  I had great visions of the adorableness captured in photos as he did his first Easter egg hunt.

I put it on him this morning to determine button placement and the dang thing is too short.  WAY too short.  There's no adjusting to make it work.  I was so disappointed! Hours of work (and probably too much money) wasted.  Grrr!!

So, after 10 minutes of grieving my hard work and pricked fingers, I decided that even though I didn't have time to remake a whole jon-jon, Nathan would still wear something I made for him. Gosh darn it!  So I took a onsie I KNEW fit and appliqued a bunny on it.  And it's cute.  And although I'm still disappointed about the jon-jon mishap, the bunny is pretty cute, so I'm satisfied.  But we still have to go buy him something to wear to church.

Watering the Flowers

I planted azaleas in the back yard & have been going out every afternoon with Nathan to water them.  This kid LOVES a water hose.

Yesterday he came running across the yard when I turned on the water.  Only he didn't stop when he reached the water... he tried to grab and hold the spray, tripped, and fell face first into the exact spot I was watering. He was soaked!

Sandbox Fun

Grandmommy came and brought Nathan an early Easter present... a turtle sandbox!  He no longer has to dig dirt in my flowerpots, which is great since I've planted Basil in his favorite digging pot.  Needless to say, this gift is a hit!

The only time he's not a fan is when he forgets he has sand on his hands and sticks his fingers in his mouth.  Silly baby.

My Kid is a Genius!

I opened the fridge to pull out lunch and he pointed to the apples and said, "Appee."  So I pulled one out and told him I needed a cutting board to cut it up for him.  He walked over to the drawer, opened it & grabbed a yellow cutting board.  I said, "Get the little red one on top, please."  He let go of the yellow one, grabbed the little red one, and handed it to me.  Genius!!
