Moving to the Crib, Part 1

Now that Sandy is back at work, I wanted to try putting Nate in his crib with the hope that Sandy could get some sleep at night. Mom bought us a nice sound & movement monitor. It has a sensor that goes under the matress and sounds an alarm if it doesn’t detect movement (breathing) for more than 20 seconds.

Last night was rough. The thunderstorm, freaked out dog, & 2 false alarms on the movement sensor in the crib probably didn’t help. Nate was really restless & the monitor picked up everything, so I was still up every 45 minutes to an hour. He’s such a noisy sleeper – moaning, grunting, snoring, honking. I thought it’d be quieter through the monitor, but it wasn’t & still felt the need to go check on all his noises.

He needed his paci. Then it fell out of his mouth & he wanted it back. Feed, change, repeat whole scenario every two hours.

Nate & I ended up in the living room again. I was asleep on the couch with him in his swing. Poor Sandy only had an hour or two without me climbing in & out of bed. We’ll try again tonight & hopefully things will go more quietly.
